"... What a smokin' showing... All the old tunes were played to perfection, with a 90's twist... but was knocked out by the amount of new songs, and the band's enthusiasm to play them. "Stone Cold Hollywood" definitely kicked some funk levels up a notch...

PDX loves their Sons, and Bill & Co. seemed totally in awe of the loud, roaring crowd's approval!!! ... Yes, the Sons came to play...

Band was tight, and had a great sound. Horns... what can you say? Mic & Tee just brought a whole new perspective to it all. Youze guyz can CRANK!!!

Geoff unbelievably floated with ease from B-3, to vibes, to piano... Is there anything this humble Son can't do? He seemed shocked when people cheered his solo... and shyly waved the peace sign!!! Drums had the greatest heavy sound... as a drummer, I was knocked out by the sound... all miked through the PA, killer, and punctual... And Hag, what can you say... that dude still has some of the tastiest chops I've ever heard, and fast, I mean fast fingers on those frets!!!... " - Keith

"... It was three hours of vintage "sons" music with a twist that was unexpected. Sprinkled throughout the show were four... count them... four... new songs. Bill mentioned several times that they hoped it was OK if they tryed out some new stuff on us. And like each song, that was greeted with excitement. Could this mean a new release sometime in the future...

And after a lenghty encore... Kate,Tip, and Dave helped us get them out for one more. Bill came to the mike and told us they had played all the songs they new. That got a good laugh... and then we got about fifteen minutes more of a great adlib with each player getting a solo. It was a thing of beauty to watch Bill orchestrate this piece of music. At each bridge everyone turned to Bill for direction and off they would go again... really good stuff...

I was lucky enough to get back stage after it was over and chat with Terry and Geoff. They were extremely excited about the reception they received that night and it was great to hear them go on about it..." - Brett

Bill & Terry "... First of all, many, many thanks to Tip, Kate and Dave!!!!!! I now know that without all your HARD work the show never would of happened. I will forever be grateful!

We drove down from Seattle friday morning... We were fortunate enough to be Golden Circle people and were let in at 4:00 P.M. We spent the next two hours taking photos and listening and watching. This was a dream come true for me. I can't think of another band I would want to do this with.

The show was absolutely amazing!!!!! The two ( of many) highlights were when Terry broke a string and the song was just finishing and he 'air guitared' his part while getting restrung. The second was when they played To The Sea. It was so pretty. Never before had I realized what a song writer Bill is. I've been listening to the Sons since the 60's, seen em 7 times, but never never never have I witnessed a show like that!

The post show party was a dream come true. Thirty five or forty people in the basement of a nice Pizza place rappin with our heroes. Each and every band member took the time to talk with us and thanks us for being faithful. There were NO egos... just REALLY nice guys!..." - Clay

"Dave, major thanks to you, Tip, and Kate for bringing the Sons to Portland. We left Vancouver, British Columbia at 10:00 in the morning, driving through the mother of all rain/wind storms, getting to Portland at 6:30, check into the hotel and grab a cab over to the Aladdin... walk into the place and the buzz/excitement was tremendous...

And the music, unlike others I had only heard the Sons live in 1969... this was absolutely wonderful, singing along with the songs, watching that slight smile on Hag's face after he whipped off an amazing run... spent a lot of time appreciating the Bass-man's solid foundation... not over powering... just there!!

And Bill and Geoff, We were sitting three rows away from the vibes, so nice to see Geoff giving the vibes a workout and the interaction between Bill and Geoff was remarkable. Bill is a 'real' band leader, watching him lead the band and then watch, and appreciate the boys do their thing was great...

Thanks again for bringing this together, it was wonderful..." - John

"I thought the guys were rippin' it at the Concord gig last year, but Portland was on fire last night. I can't recall ever being at a concert where both the band and the crowd were having such a good time. This one will go down as an 'all-timer'." - Mike

"... The show last night was phenomenal!!! I am still wound up. Portland will never be the same after the magic that the Sons brought. They totally blew me away. The energy in that little theater was incredible. It truly is something you all MUST experience." - Valerie

"Hello to everybody from San Diego! Just got back from Portland. I've seen the Sons live eight or nine times going back to 1969. Their show on Friday was the best in every way that I've ever been to, and I'm not kidding! Portland may have the best Sons fans on the planet and the band responded with the most joyous out-pouring of music imaginable! I know it sounds corny, but it was a pure love-fest! I've never seen a group of musicians have that much fun playing together. It was perfect mix of outstanding new material and Sons tunes that we already love. The whole band cooked and Hag absolutely ripped! Three hours! Thank you to Kate Nay, Tip Hanzlik, and Dave Duncan for producing the show. I'm pretty sure this was the first time they've produced a concert, but you would never know. It was the best!" - Dick
